REUBEN WHETTEN
Country Singer-songwriter
A third-generation hand-me-down guitar and a deep desire started it all. In 2019, at his high school talent show in Colonia Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, Reuben Whetten made his debut performance. He soon released singles and his STRUGGLES EP, and then his pop-inspired debut album Outside in 2021. Later that year, he switched to country with the In Those Boots EP, turning towards his roots. His 2022 album Inside continued that journey, blending heartfelt storytelling with his unique sound.
In 2023, Reuben released singles ranging from Nashville-inspired Something ‘Bout Tennessee, to The Day That You Left, featuring Collateral Music (Kiki Gazit, lead singer of Doll Apartments) mixing modern country and punk rock, to Ain’t Worth the Saddle, a gritty rock-influenced country song inspired by a horse training accident, to Cowboy Lost and Ride Away with western and spiritual themes. On July 6, 2023, his 10th baptism anniversary, he released 2 Corinthians 4:16, reflecting on faith and resilience.
That same month, Reuben left for his 2-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Puebla, Mexico. During his mission, some of his earlier music was removed from streaming platforms. In his spare time, he wrote the songs inspired by daily journal entries about the hardships he faced. After returning home in 2025, his project Songs I Wrote on My Mission came out on Nov. 7. Reuben continues sharing his journey through honest, story-driven music shaped by faith and life.
